A bit about me…

I promise this won’t be a blow-by-blow account of my career and history. You can check out my LinkedIn if you’re interested in that.

I’m Lee, I live with my husband and our cheeky black Labrador in north Essex, although our hearts will always be back in London and I’m not-so-secretly hoping we can move to the sea before we retire.

I spent a massive chunk of my career working as a communications director for large (usually public sector) organisations. Until 2019, when on my honeymoon in Hawaii (thank you Tom Selleck!) I had a moment of clarity and decided I had to quit (longer story is toxic workplace, hellish commute and no quality of life). And so I did, with no plans on what would come next…

A year later, I launched sunday skies. I’ll be honest it was hard transitioning to - and having the responsibility for - running my own business. The first year felt like a hobby, I was completely naive. Years two, three and four I’d figured stuff out a bit more, but the 9-5 (and some) mindset was well and truly ingrained and I found myself back dealing with corporate BS just in another guise.

So you find me now, version 3.whoknows, a lot clearer on my vision to help people get out of their own way. To fight against the conditioning we’ve had shoved down our throats since we were children. To show that we can be successful without burning out, compromising our integrity or becoming someone else.

(Un)learning is never-ending and all-encompassing. From figuring out what a work/life juggle is to saying a massive f-you to the politicians who are causing chaos and heartbreak. We all have our own things to work on, and for my part I’m committed to (un)learning in public.

How I work

There are a few things you’ll want to know if you’re going to work with me…

Firstly, leadership gives me the ick. Yes, I’ve spent my career working with ‘leaders’ and I can tell you there are two types - ones who get stuff done quietly, with integrity, taking people with them. Then there are those who seem to fail upwards. Who are led by their ego instead of their values. And there are too many in that second category for my liking.

I’m not interested in people who see leadership as a status symbol, who do personal development as a tick-box, or want to shit on others to get ahead.

I want the quiet leaders to stop being drowned out by the wrong types, or feeling they have to change in order to fit in and succeed, that’s where I can help.

Secondly, I’m not a woo coach. I won’t be reading you tarot, getting you to manifest (well not seriously anyway) or bombard you with positive messaging. I also don’t fall into the school of the bro-coach, who will try to sell you a $20 e-book on how to make your millions.

I’ve done the work to train as a coach and NLP practitioner. I believe that real insight and understanding comes from within. And I will ask questions, challenge, hold a mirror up to help you to think differently first and foremost.

I also won’t guarantee you particular results - that’s down to the inner work you have to do - but I will help you to identify the BS that’s holding you back and help you to work out a way to overcome it. The rest is up to you.

Here’s how I can help

Things that keep me ticking…

🫖 Yorkshire Gold tea - no sugar, a splash of milk only and usually with a bourbon biscuit.

📚 Reading - I do that A LOT and will always have a recommendation.

🎤 Music - my top 5 greatest songs (these change often); David Bowie Modern Love, Oasis Champagne Supernova, Chas n Dave Ain’t No Pleasing You, Earth, Wind & Fire That’s the Way of the World, The Beatles Something.

📺 Watching old TV shows & movies - a weekend doesn’t pass without watching an episode of Murder, She Wrote, we also love Magnum PI (hence the Hawaii trip), Diagnosis Murder, a Carry On film if we want a laugh or an Audrey Hepburn one if we’re after all the emotions.

🏋 Using my Peloton - yep, I’m that person - but the strength-training programmes have been a game-changer for me physically and mentally.

🖍️ Doing something creative - I’m a serial hobbyist, current obsession is learning to sketch, but I dabble in sewing, knitting and other crafty pursuits as my mood suits.
